RGS Annual Conference 2022 Sponsorship

Dear all,
The Urban Geography Research Group (UGRG) of the RGS invites proposals for sessions to be sponsored by us at the 2022 Royal Geographical Society Conference. Session sponsorship means that a session is branded in the conference programme with the Research Group’s name, and will be promoted through our Research Group networks. Unfortunately, session sponsorship does not include financial sponsorship.
The RGS-IBG Annual International Conference will take place at Newcastle University, from Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September 2022. The conference will be chaired by Professor Rachel Pain (Newcastle University) on the theme Geographies Beyond Recovery, and it will have a strong in-person element as well as hybrid and online ways to participate.  https://www.rgs.org/research/annual-international-conference/chair-s-theme/
We encourage creative formats and invite proposals for session sponsorship that engage with the conference theme, and aspects of urban geographies. Given that the UGRG’s concerns cut across a number of research groups, co-sponsorship is possible. If you would like to explore co-sponsorship, you should contact UGRG as well as other groups of interest https://www.rgs.org/research/research-groups/
UGRG is also able to offer a limited number of guest passes (covering the registration fee for a day’s attendance at the conference, but not travel or accommodation). The application process for this will be announced through this mailing list in the Spring 2022.
To apply for UGRG session sponsorship please send:
* the title the of proposed session (up to 15 words), name and affiliation of organizers, and abstract of c. 200-300 words* indication of proposed format (e.g. papers, panel discussion, use of discussants – for possibilities of session formats, see: https://www.rgs.org/research/annual-international-conference/call/conference-session-formats/ )  * the number of 1h 40 minutes slots requested (please note sessions may not normally occupy more than two timeslots)
to e.robin@sheffield.ac.uk by Friday 18th February 2022. The committee will review the applications and inform session organisers of decisions by Friday 4th March 2022.
Once a sponsorship decision has been made, please send the full session details to the RGS-IBG conference organisers by Friday 25th March (with all proposed papers and presenters).  For further details on how to submit your session details please contact ac2022@rgs.org or see https://www.rgs.org/research/annual-international-conference/call/
