RGS-IBG Urban Geography Research Group AGM 2021 – Get involved!

Dear urban geographers,

The newly revived Urban Geography Research Group (UGRG) of the RGS-IBG will be holding its AGM virtually on 9th Sept 2021 at 2 pm BST. Please email Creighton Connolly (cconnolly@lincoln.ac.uk) for Zoom registration details.

The Urban Geography Research Group is one of the oldest and largest of the Society’s Research Groups and spans the whole of urban geography. The group organizes lively and topical events and discussion forms, offers a dissertation prize, sponsors sessions at the RGS-IBG Annual Conference, and are currently organising a UGRG Annual Conference (‘Cities of Hope’) taking place on 18th/19th November 2021.

We have a committee vacancy for the role of secretary which will be filled by vote at the AGM.

The role of the Secretary includes, amongst other things, liaising with the Chair, organising and taking minutes at committee meetings, disseminating information to and soliciting the views of committee members and organising the AGM. This position is for three years and the post must be filled by an RGS-IBG member.

Expressions of interest in the post can be given up until the start of the AGM via email. If you are not able to attend our AGM but you would like to stand for the posts, please email a short paragraph outlining your interest and what experience/skills you have that would be useful for the post to either Creighton Connolly (cconnolly@lincoln.ac.uk) or Jennie Middleton (jennie.middleton@ouce.ox.ac.uk). Information about the group can be accessed via our website (https://ugrg.co.uk/).
